Extinct/Retired Disney Parks Attractions Tournament submissions
While there are still about 2 days left for the finals of the Disney Parks Attractions tournament, (and then a quick lightning round/mini tournament of losers from round 1), I thought I'd open up submissions to the next tournament!
Submissions will be open for a while, when I have an exact date, it will be updated here!
Enter as many attractions/rides as you want, but do it in separate entries please!
Can be from any of the Disney parks
Can be anything that is gone from the parks, including but not limited to, rides, attractions, shows, parades, specific food, restaurants, characters, experiences, lands, etc!

i know that disney is too big to boycott effectively but that shouldn't translate to "and so we should keep buying their products like normal" but rather "at the very least we should try"

Well, I found the Disney press release plant disguised as an opinion article in response to Jenny Nicholson's 4-hour video on the Star Wars Hotel. I feel like the need to even call it by the official name that Disney insisted on every person involved with the experience call it is enough to give away the game.
Like, if this wasn't a direct response then the timing could not have been worse.
Like, it's not even like Jenny only talked about the negatives and spent the whole time bashing the very concept. She mentioned things she liked pretty frequently, it's just the execution of the idea was poor and it was extremely obvious that Disney was cutting corners at literally every single possible turn while also nickel and dining you on what was supposed to be a luxury experience.
Which is kind of indicative of how Disney has ran in the last 10 or so years, and especially in the Chapek-era. They have spent all this time coasting on the reputation they built from the 60's to early 10's for a quality product and I feel like that good will is gone now.

The TWA Moonliner rocket at Disneyland's Tomorrowland towers over the other attractions, including the Autopia seen in the background. At 76 feet, the Moonliner was the second tallest structure in the park at the time - Sleeping Beauty's castle was a foot taller.  The ghostly images are shoppers at a souvenir kiosk that were captured due to the long exposure time needed for the nighttime shot. Photographed September 1960 by Mary Baum.

Also got this little baby
Technically vintage but it’s from a counting series of pins going through the years before 2000.

Anakin approached his beloved and tucked a strand of hair behind her ear. He felt her tremble with fear and, with his sweetness, he said, “Don’t be afraid, my love. I swear by the love I have for you, nothing and no one will hurt you.” ⸻ “my love” It's not Padmé, it's me, because I love Anakin.

went on the new tiana ride at mk for 4th of july. i give it 2/5 stars.
not as bad as i feared.
honestly, some really nice animatronics.
despite having more animatronics than i feared, lots of the ride still felt empty? just a looot of foliage to fill in the blanks.
allergic to having a story. no conflict or thrill allowed.
kinda just....boring?
i wish they would just let us have book report dark rides again.
kids will still like it and at least a leading black princess gets to have a more permanent place in the park.
still cannot believe they VE'd mama odie's treehouse ship from the top of the ride!!! AFTER RELEASING THAT CONCEPT ART????! that was the main visual draw for this attraction! now it's a lump! it's a little baby foliage hill!! it blends in entirely with the surrounding trees! where is the drama!??? where is the ICON!?
idk, it cements disney's commitment to mediocrity for wdw. i don't think we'll ever see anything above 3/5 stars stateside until we get some new players into the exec offices who are wiling to invest actual money into the parks again. we've seen with the new fantasy springs area that disney's creatives have been doing the work, but it's clear that disney corporate isn't willing to spend the same kind of money that the oriental land company is, which is why everything that does make it to install here seems to be cut back so much. i think disney, like a lot of this industry tbh, lost a lot of their best and brightest when they laid off everyone in 2020, and in doing so lost a ton of institutional knowledge which could spell a rough few years to come as well. i'm also curious to see what disney does in the next couple years as park goers choose to spend their vacays at epic universe instead. will they suddenly realize the value of not undercutting their own projects??

The Barbie movie had a ton of stuff going on but most of it worked at least a little bit, the one thing that didn’t work for me at all was the girl and her mom.

I'd love to hear more about your story! Especially how Maze Runner and the Inheritance Games helped inspire it but I'd love to hear anything you're willing to share
Hi!
I saw your ask and just brainstormed a few things about it because many things are just "normal" for me now.
I don't know how much you know about my story, so if you got more questions, ask away! (You can find a little summary here)
(and I am willing to share very much, I try to keep this short)
Maze Runner:
The catastrophies are heavily inspired by tmr. The world where my story takes place has had many different catastrophies in the past few years. In tst, Brenda tells Thomas something about why the world is now how it is and a part that stuck with me were the sun storms/solar flares. So I began with that. I added many more things like heavy thunderstorms, hurricanes and even asteroids crashing near Japan and all over Europe, all over the span of three years, causing the USA to build "Safety Zones" (a bit like Denver in tdc but with a huge dome over it), where some people can live, when they can afford it. Like tdc it looks much better on the outside than the inside (but there are no zombie-like people)
I have two other stories, that are inspired by maze runner! Both are very old and on hold right now. One is called "Escape" and is about a girl named Abigail Blair Cleary that is accused of murdering the president's son. Now she flees alone, trying to not get caught, and has to get through a big dessert (like the scorch). But she isn't that long alone, because she rescues two people who follow her without knowing who she is. The other one is called "Forgotten" and evolves around a school, where the kids are pretty much alone, besides a few adults. One group tries to rebel against the adults and go behind the barrier, just to realize that there a hundred small machines that try to kill them.
The Inheritance Games:
The Inheritance Games have a very small impact on this story. It's mostly one personality of a side character that is inspired by her bubbly personality.
Also, one of the main characters (Dean) tries to help everyone. In my first draft, he tried to rescue a boy while the building was falling apart (the boy is well, but Dean needed time to recover after almost being buried alive). It reminds me a bit of Nash
I have another WIP, where the inheritance games is a much bigger influence. The WIP is called "Swords of Friendship" and currently put aside, so I can work on two other projects. Its about two best friends and one of them gets chosen to rescue the world. Two young men, who were trained their whole live to be chosen, are disappointed but then help them, while uncovering a lot of secrets about the "chosen ones"
One last thing I want to share, because I remembered a few hours ago: I have scenes planned, that are inspired by the Disney parks. One scene would have the group sit on a rooftop and watch a firework from a safety zone nearby. One of them would tell them, how safety zones would use compressed air to shoot the fireworks higher and how some zones would use drones for some parts.
